This year GZAGA has selected to Honor Leo Cortez (Beta FF), as Grand Marshal for the 2010 tournament; a brother who’s dedication and commitment to the organization is unparalleled and who has played an integral role in the growth of GZAGA!
Hermanos, Brothers,
Once again we gather to create new memories with old friends. We gather to compete against ourselves, beat last year’s score. And perhaps be one of the few Campeones who have teed off in the last 5 years. While 6 anniversaries is not a long time for organizations who have been around for over 100 years. We have had the time of our lives in the last 22 years of our organization’s history. As our brotherhood blossoms we need to challenge ourselves by starting new traditions. Traditions founded in our principals and without deviating from our core values as members of GZA and the Alumni Association.
Our Familia is growing and with that the need for us to come together and network, cherish our time together, and look forward to the next year to come. This year’s National Golf Tournament is the largest in our short history, and in no time at all, we will have a shotgun start with all 18 holes covered. And soon after that we will have to relocate to a course that can put on two eighteen hole courses as a shotgun start. And soon after that we will have to have tournaments to qualify to be part of the national tournament. Why not? If we dared to create this organization during a time when no one else had done it, why can’t we do what others have done. And surpass it! And surpass it, yet again!
After this year, we shall gather once again and remember what last year brought. This year’s activities will be next years memories. Let’s make memories we can talk about for years to come and cherish always. My brotheren, let’s come together and do this the only way we know how. Let’s do this, Gamma Style!!! -Leobardo Cortez (Beta FF)
