Joel Pulgarin, Jr. joined Gamma Zeta Alpha on December 3, 1993. As a founding father for the first chapter in the Southern California region, he has established the respect and support from fellow founding fathers and brothers from Chico, San Jose, and UC Berkley Universities. He served as President, Sargent of Arms and National Public Relations Director for Gamma Zeta Alpha, Inc.

Prior to joining the Gamma Zeta Alpha Fraternity, Joel was very active at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) serving as Associated Student Senator as well as President and Public Relations Director of the Latino Business Association. He was also involved in the Minority Business and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance programs. His extensive leadership experience helped him contribute to the strong foundation and values of this respected fraternity. Since inception, Gamma Zeta Alpha Northridge Chapter (Delta) has received honors and accolades for providing a positive environment, mentorship and instilling values to shape and educate the young Latino men who join the fraternity.

Joel received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Finance from California State University, Northridge, making him the first member of his family and generation to graduate from college. Currently Joel is the Director of Operations for Su Clinica Medica based in San Bernardino, which provides health care services to the underserved communities throughout the Inland Empire.

In addition, Joel serves on the Board of Directors for NEED, the Advisory Committee for UEI (San Bernardino Campus), El Consulado de Mexico Health Committee (past chair and member) and is a strong supporter of the USC Latino Alumni Association.

Joel is happily married to Marisol and they live in Los Angeles, CA with their two beautiful children: Joel Christian and Marilu Solimar.
